khmer temple

A series of prefabricated metal buildings delineates space for Khmer community and worship among the agricultural fields and humble farm buildings in the heart of Texas. The prefabricated structure is clad with steel weathered to a red reminiscent of the distinct hue found in the expansive roofs of traditional Khmer Buddhist temples. The structures are arranged to set up visual axes and procession grounded on the orthogonal rigor found in the Angkor Wat, knitting together the various activities of community and worship within cosmic order.
